Promina is a traditional winegrowing region, placed on the southern slopes of the mountain Promina and karst plateaus, along the middle part of the river Krka which, as well as a mixture of continental and Mediterranean climate, is particularly conducive to the cultivation of traditional grapevine varieties. The varieties that stand out among the white wine grapes are Oklaj Debit and Maraština, and among the red varieties Merlot, Lasin and Plavina.

The Promina Wine Festival brings together the best Promina winemakers with the aim of promotion and evaluation of traditional Promina varieties.
